Rooted in the Work was born from the challenges and insights we witnessed on Rikers Island—spaces where harm and resilience coexist.

Today, our work focuses on three core areas:

  1. Restorative Circles:

Safe spaces to address harm, build trust, and foster community. We facilitate circles for organizations, schools, and justice settings to support healing and accountability.

(Ideal for schools, nonprofits, and workplaces seeking a culture shift.)

  2. Skill-Based Programming:

Focused on autonomy and growth, our programs offer technical and leadership skills—from entrepreneurship to workforce readiness—tailored to systems-impacted individuals and their communities.

    (Customizable workshops available.)

  3. Community-Based System Design:

Partnering with organizations to co-create policies and practices rooted in equity, healing, and accountability. From staff handbooks to strategic plans, we transform systems to support those most impacted.

    (Let’s design a better future—together!)
